My son is a big fan of “The Bumble Nums” on YouTube by Super Simple Songs. It’s a great show about the culinary adventures of a family of 3. I think it’s a great show for picky eaters too as it introduces creative recipes with funny ingredients and lots of adventure! My son was first attracted to it because it include numbers, colours, ingredients and of course a count down! I thought it was great for getting him to try new foods/ingredients so it’s a win win!
Super Simple Songs is a great YouTube channel for little ones. It has lots of educational content without being boring.
They also have a website with lots of free printables featuring worksheets, colouring pages, activities and crafts based on the show.
It’s always great to have easy ways to
get kids entertained while away from the screen. If you add the bonus that it’s actually educational entertainment, what could be better!?
Toys! Oh yes toys… I guess pretend play is also great to get those creative minds growing.
Unfortunately Super Simple Songs doesn’t sell many toys, or at least not for most of their shows. With The Bumble Nums one could argue that any generic kitchen toys may do the trick, at least for the cooking bit…
But the adventure and sometimes even silliness is a big component of the show too…
The characters are so simple that I didn’t hesitated much on makings them. I would still like to make accessories and ingredients but haven’t done so yet. Apart from an Indiana Jones style hat, that has been featured on a few of my instagram photos, and then vanished from sight and hasn’t been found for weeks! I even looked under the sofa!
Hats are always a big success here… they are my favourite accessories to make and I think I have passed on the love to my small one because he seams to love hats as well. I guess I will need to make a new one soon. Anyways hats are definitely something that I would like to add to these patterns so watch out for updates.
